A vacation resort island has turned into a zombie/flesh eating Octoberfest and your on the lunch menu. The island is huge, plenty of space to explore-well done graphics. I am a big fan of Left for Dead, but the creators of Dead Island surpassed the 4 person coop restrictions and limitations of a small map. This game provides quests, customizable weaponry, vehicular customization/combat, RPG all bundled into a 1st person shooter. Plus, there are lots of different kinds of zombies to remove from the gene pool. Fast, slow, powerful, special-running around in bikinis. It's pretty creepy just wandering around the island-you never know when a zombie will lunge at you.
The characters/survivors are pretty cool, not like L4D2 where you learn to hate some of the characters. There are 2 guys and 2 gurls to choose from. Good back ground story and fun situations. There is no capture the flag or other coop factions, just simple "survival" and complete quests to advance the story. You can choose any of the 4 characters-they each have different skill sets. This game can be played with others-which makes it fun; but single player is also a hoot!
Anyhoo, great game, worth every penny if you like gaming and want to try something different. Thought I would share if anyone is interested in trying something different and new. enjoy.
If I were to score it 1-10: 8
It's not a perfect game, but still well made.
